Pres aide: Russia to retaliate against extension of US sanctions
MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- Russia will take appropriate measures in response to the extension of sanctions by the U.S., presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
“Sure, the Russian side has taken adequate measures in accordance with an already established practice. We can only one more time express regret and impossibility to embrace this destructive approach from the side of our American colleagues,” Peskov said.
The Treasury Department said Tuesday that the U.S. extended the blacklist of Russians over the situation in Ukraine, adding seven individuals, eight organizations and two tankers. The sectorial sanctions against Russia were scaled up as well, with the scope now covering affiliates of Russian Agricultural Bank and 12 units of independent gas producer Novatek.
